Beautiful Lulu

Lulu is probably the most beautiful doll I have, but the soccer outfit she came in is kinda lame. She’s been trying on clothes around the house lately, and she’s finally found something she likes. She’s tall and slender, so most things around here are not a good fit for her. This is Ile de Passage from Maplelea. Even the shoes fit!

Dolly A-Z: Zoe

We made it!  A-Z Addy to Zoe.  Zoe is from Karito Kids.  I had to have her as soon as I found out she had freckles.

I bought her without seeing a picture, and was disappointed when she arrived without her hat, and wearing an American Girl skirt.  But I still love her.

If you’ve been following since August, you’ve now met every single one of my dolls.  Any favorites?

Dolly A-Z: Lulu

Are you prepared to meet the most beautiful doll ever?

Her name is Lulu, she comes from Karito Kids. Karito Kids went out of business a few years before I discovered Lulu. Here are 2 photos that made me want her. They are not my photos. They are from a friend on the Friends of Maplelea message board (her name is sailafan):

So I found Lulu, still in box, on ebay for $50.  Here are photos of my Lulu:

Lulu is from Kenya and plays soccer.  My Lulu is from Karito Kids’ first generation; sailafan’s is wearing the second generation outfit, which was pink.  Karito Kids are about 22 inches tall (compared to American Girl’s 18), and a bit skinnier than American Girl.  They have trouble standing up on their own.  That’s why their arms are a bit wonky in the photos above–they’re trying to keep their balance.

Karito Kids have been discontinued for a few years now. I tracked down 3. As you may remember from a 30 days with Mini Kit post, I found Pita on walmart.com and was thrilled to use my employee discount. Pita is gorgeous, but I really had my eye on Lulu. I found her on ebay, still in her box, for a really good price. Then I had 2 brunettes, and needed a blonde. My first choice was Piper, but then I learned that Zoe had freckles!! I found Zoe on amazon for a not-as-good price (more than I paid for Pita). Amazon told me that she did not have her box or her book, which I was fine with, but they didn’t tell me she was also missing her hat and gloves. She arrived in a box sitting down, and her pants are all stretched out from sitting for who knows how long. And she has some hair issues. She’s the first play doll that I’ve ever bought used, and I know these are all things that would happen in her life anyway, but it’s so weird that I wasn’t there for them. I’m even a little sad about her. So, I’m pretending that I got her for as cheap as I got Lulu, and that I paid a little extra for Lulu because she’s super gorgeous. All three of them are extraordinarily beautiful.  I’ll take better pictures eventually, but here’s a little taste of their beauty.
