Elizabeth is from the land of sweets, Kirsten is Clara, Cecile is a snowflake, and down on the floor, Felicity and Gwen are ready to take the stage as the Nutcracker Prince and the Mouse King.

And you may have noticed a new girl, yet to be named (though I’m leaning toward Amethyst)!

She cost twice as much as a regular American Girl doll, but she has glitter around her eyes and pierced ears and her outfit has Swarovski crystals. She is a limited edition (mine is number 2707 of 5000), and I love her. Her hair and eyes are gorgeous, and Courtney’s arrival has made all my girls excited about earrings.

Forever Josefina

Josefina is from New Mexico.  New Mexico in 1824, which was still part of Mexico.  I think her clothing is pretty awesome.  I heard a rumor that she’s getting new outfits next spring, along with a Beforever journey book.

Forever Samantha

Say hello to Samantha, the first American Girl to come back from retirement!  Here is my Samantha collection:

Samantha’s bike is really beautiful.  Critics say it’s too modern, but someone on the dolly boards found a vintage advertisement for a bicycle that came in vermilion, and safety bicycles were first designed in 1876 according to Wikipedia.  Mia looks gorgeous in the pink hair ribbon and turquoise-accented blouse:

A Maui trip report, by Kanani

Aloha all! This is Kanani. We got home from Maui last night. Here are some photos!

We went on a plantation tour on Wednesday.  It was a bit of a tourist trap, but there were some nice flowers:

and me and Cecile in our new dresses at the airport on the way home.  I chose the dress with the canoes because Marjorie and the rest of the humans went canoeing.  They saw whales!:

It was a pretty good trip.  I spent a good amount of time napping in the hotel while Marjorie and the humans played at the beach and the pool.  It was fun playing with Cecile though.  We even met an Isabelle at the airport in Maui who was also wearing a new dress (Didja know that Cecile, Isabelle and I all have the same color eyes?).  And I did a good job keeping Cecile’s mommy entertained on the airplane.    I’m surprised my long long hair survived the long long journey (I almost didn’t get to go on the trip because my hair is so long and Marjorie was worried it would get too messy).  But it survived, and we survived, but it might be a while before I go on vacation again with 4 kids!

Isabelle Outfits

I finally got the girls into Isabelle outfits:

Kit is wearing Isabelle’s performance outfit, Josefina is wearing her fancy dress, and Nikki is wearing Isabelle’s pajamas.  You can see Isabelle peeking over Josefina’s shoulders; she is still wearing the outfit she came in and the jacket that came with her accessories.  Everyone else is wearing all of Isabelle’s mix and match pieces.  That’s all for now.  Have a nice day.

Dolly A-Z: Kanani

Kanani is girl of the year 2011. She’s Hawaiian, and she’s amazing. So much about her extraordinary: her long curly hair, her tan skin, her almond-shaped hazel eyes.

This week she’s wearing Saige’s sweater outfit.

And remember how pretty she looked in Molly’s bathing suit?

I love Kanani.  I’m so glad she’s a part of my American Girl family.
